Whether it’s curious young animals or the expressive gazes of tigers, Amur leopards and others: the 2027 zoo calendar highlights two special aspects of Schönbrunn’s wildlife. Designed by zoo photographer Daniel Zupanc, this reversible calendar features baby animals on one side and the zoo’s various exotic cat species on the other.

Among the images are an Amur leopard cub’s first attempts at climbing, a tiny ring-tailed lemur on its mother’s back, and the clumsy steps of a Northern rockhopper penguin chick. The photographs capture special moments from the animals’ first months of life and also highlight the importance of zoos in the conservation of endangered species. The second page of the calendar is dedicated to the zoo’s fascinating big cats. From cheetahs and lions to Amur leopards, the images showcase the unique characteristics of these animals. “Over the years, Schönbrunn Zoo has become a second home to me. Through my photographs, I want to share my fascination with the animals and this place,” says Zupanc.
